Arsenal notched up their first away win in the north London derby since 2014 with a mature performance against a tepid Tottenham side, but were helped by plenty of dark arts to ensure that they opened up an eight point lead at the top of the Premier League.
The Gunners dominated the first half and deservedly took the lead after Hugo Lloris pushed a cross into his own net, before Martin Odegaard doubled it with a strike from distance before half time.

The second half was more even, with Tottenham forcing Aaron Ramsdale into several excellent saves, including one from Ryan Sessegnon, which he saved with an outstretched right leg.
And eagle-eyed Arsenal fans have spotted how he was helped out by fellow Englishman Ben White.
With the Gunners right back caught out of position as Sessegnon snuck in behind him, he did what any Sunday league footballer would do in that situation- he screamed as loudly as he could in an attempt to put the Tottenham man off.
?>And it had the desired effect, with Sessegnon seeing his effort saved, and Arsenal keeping their clean sheet intact in order to extend their lead at the summit of the Premier League, one which could be further extended this weekend when they host Manchester United.
A win over the Red Devils would see them move 12 points clear of Erik ten Hag's side, while defeat could see their deficit cut to just 6 points and drag United back into a title race.

Meanwhile, Tottenham face Manchester City, with both sides coming into the game on the back of derby day losses and both with serious catching up to do, Spurs in the top four race and Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title, which would be their fifth in six years.
