Per the California State Treasurer's office, the new apartments will come in one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans, with rents ranging between $466 and $1,354 per month. The units will be targeted to households making between 30 and 60 percent of the Los Angeles area median income.
Construction of the approximately $63-million development is anticipated to conclude in mid-2019.
Abode purchased the development site in 2012 in partnership with T.R.U.S.T. South L.A. for $9 million in 2012. It demolished 48 existing apartments to allow for the new development.
Abode's current pipeline of projects includes new apartments in West Adams, as well as two developments near the Gold Line in Boyle Heights.
