Pradeep Sarkar's untimely demise left the entire Bollywood industry in shock. With the director's family holding a prayer meeting in his memory today (April 2) in Mumbai, many B-town stars, including Saif Ali Khan, Prasoon Joshi, Drashti Dhami, and others attended to offer their condolences.

He breathed his last at 3.30 am on March 24. He was 68. The director was on dialysis and his potassium levels had dropped drastically. He passed away in a hospital, where he was rushed after his condition deteriorated at 2 30 am.




Sarkar was admitted to the ICU in a Mumbai's hospital on March 22 with complications, including pneumonia, arising from viral fever. In conversation with TOI, the hospital's CEO revealed that the director was a patient with chronic kidney disease needing regular dialysis.




Pradeep Sarkar made his directorial debut with the Vidya Balan starrer 'Parineeta' in 2005. Other films directed by him include 'Mardaani', 'Laga Chunari Mein Daag', 'Helicopter Eela', 'Lafangey Parindey', and others. Sarkar has also directed web series like 'Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala', 'Arranged Marriage And Forbidden Love'.
