Premier League outfit Nottingham Forest have turned their attentions towards the Championship, amid an ongoing push for fresh blood at the back.

The efforts of the powers that be at the City Ground to reinforce Steve Cooper's squad, of course, have taken their place front and centre in the media headlines across the day to date.

This comes amid a remarkable deadline day push, which could, when all is said and done, culminate in more than five players making their way to England's east Midlands.

Two such players, it was thought, were in line to come by way of Chelsea, after, first, Callum Hudson-Odoi penned terms with Forest through the summer of 2026.

Negotiations were then kicked into gear over another Blues star, namely Trevoh Chalobah.

Confirmation, however, was forthcoming a short time ago that stopper Chalobah will not be following his Blues teammate to the City Ground, having decided to stay put and fight for his place in west London.

So, where does this leave Forest, amid a last-gasp scramble for defensive additions?

As alluded to above, the big-spending Premier League outfit have turned their attentions towards England's 2nd tier, and the backline of Norwich City.

As per a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano:

'Nottingham Forest [are] preparing an opening bid for Andrew Omobamidele.'

No further information is provided, with it remaining to be seen whether or not Norwich will be open to a deal so late in the window.
