ECD Auto Design has released another restomod masterpiece called Project Oliver Plaid. Known for its expertise in bringing vintage Jaguar Land Rover models back to life, ECD reimagined a classic Range Rover with all the charm provided by the 1970s design but powered by a piece of old-fashioned American muscle.

Unlike ECD's Porsche-inspired Project Gibbles, Project Oliver Plaid is based on a '90s Land Rover Range Rover but with a '70s body on top.

It's painted Alpine Green (borrowed from Bentley), a color known for being ubiquitous in households during the same era. The homey vibe contrasts nicely with the Range Rover's rugged exterior, enhanced by a front skid plate, a minimalist roof rack, and 16-inch polished wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires. We love the steelie-inspired vibe coming off those 16-inch wheels.

The retro aesthetic continues inside the cabin, with green plaid accents at the center of tan Nappa leather seating. The floor mats also come in Olive Green, sitting atop thick green carpeting.

The original instrument panel has been updated to a modern cluster from Dakota Digital. The Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46 DAB radio with Bluetooth and USB support plus Infinity Kappa speakers further amplify the contemporary touch in the rather nostalgia-infused cabin.

The best nod to modern technology can be found in the engine bay, where a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 power plant resides. Sourced from Chevrolet Performance, it's the same unit used for the ECD Defender restomod released earlier this year.

Power figures weren't disclosed, but the LS3 produces up to 430 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque from the factory. ECD also installed a pair of Borla exhaust pipes to ensure the V8's distinct growl is adequately represented.

"When a client returns to us for a second build, we're thrilled to work with them to bring their wildest fantasy to life - especially when they know everything we're capable of. Project Oliver Plaid pays homage to all the great 20th century Range Rover Classics before it - with the modern twist ECD specializes in," said Scott Wallace, CEO and co-founder of ECD.

ECD didn't state the price for this build or whether you can get this specification with an electric powertrain, but considering that the company is open to bespoke projects, chances are pretty high.
