Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino have added Nottingham Forest attacker Brennan Johnson to their list of attacking targets this summer as they look to sign two more forwards before the transfer deadline.

Their spending, which is already over GBP800m, is not expected to end with the signing of Romeo Lavia from Southampton, and the Blues have now been credited with an interest in Johnson, who scored eight times last season.

The west London side were expected to complete the signing of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace in the coming days after activating the GBP35m release clause in the Frenchman's contract, though Palace are understood to have complained about potential 'tapping up' of their player, throwing doubt over the deal.

Now, as per the Guardian, they have also sought out terms on a move for Johnson, with the Welshman having caught the eye of West Ham and Tottenham following an excellent first Premier League season.

It is claimed that 'the possibility of including players as part of a deal for the versatile Wales international have been discussed with Forest, who value the 22-year-old at about GBP45m', and Forest are thought to hold an interest in winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is also a target for Fulham.

It is as of yet uncertain whether or not Johnson would prove an alternative to Olise or if Chelsea would sign both, but the Blues are thought to remain keen on adding two more attackers to their ranks before September's transfer deadline.

They are also aiming to add another goalkeeper following Kepa's departure on loan to Real Madrid, with the Spaniard having already expressed his desire to stay with Los Blancos permanently at the end of the season.
