Daniel Statham Studio's Future Car Park in Hangzhou, China, is an innovative and automated vertical car park that introduces a new approach to urban commuting. The building's circular towers, connected by a roof, offer 500 parking spaces. The design incorporates cutting-edge automated parking technology, creating a seamless parking experience from drop-off to pick-up--"ars are stacked using a fully automated lift system," for example. Daniel Statham Studio strategically designs the facade to offer a glimpse into the stacking system while also too provide natural ventilation. The towers also act as chimneys, ventilating car fumes and reducing the need for extensive mechanical equipment.
The vertical car park's shape also functions as a "canopy of trees," providing shade and shelter to the plaza underneath..
